JewishThe MT reads 'they pierced me' (God speaking) — a difficult text. Some rabbinic sources refer this to the Messiah ben Joseph who dies in battle. Others apply it to Israel being pierced by nations.
CatholicFulfilled at the crucifixion. John's explicit citation (John 19:37) is confirmed. The pouring of the Spirit (Pentecost) is the 'spirit of grace.'
