4:13Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.

Apostolic (Oneness) PentecostalThe nations gathered against Zion, not knowing they are gathered for judgment ('he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor'), prefigure the final massing of nations against God's people — defeated when the Lord Jesus comes (Zech. 12:9; Rev. 16:14; 19). The one God defends Zion and treads the nations in the person of the returning Christ.
JewishThe nations massing against Jerusalem are gathered by God for their own threshing; Zion is given strength to prevail — an eschatological deliverance of Israel.
CatholicThe assault on Zion and its deliverance, read of the Church's tribulation and ultimate vindication by God.
ProtestantAn end-time gathering of nations against Israel and Jerusalem, defeated by divine intervention (cf. Armageddon, Rev. 16:14; 19).
