How Traditions Read This Prophecy
Apostolic (Oneness) PentecostalJesus cites Psalm 118:22 of Himself — 'The stone which the builders rejected... is become the head of the corner.' Rejected by the leaders of Israel, He is made the chief cornerstone of God's building (Acts 4:11; 1 Pet. 2:7). The God who is Israel's Rock (Deut. 32) is that very Stone in flesh — the Lord Jesus, on whom the whole house stands or falls.
JewishPsalm 118:22 (part of the Hallel) — the once-rejected stone, read of David or Israel exalted by God after being despised; sung at Passover.
