How Traditions Read This Prophecy
Apostolic (Oneness) PentecostalAgainst the false shepherds who scatter the flock, God promises to gather His sheep and 'set up shepherds over them which shall feed them' — and the next verses name the Branch, the righteous King (23:5-6). The true Shepherd is the Lord Jesus, the good Shepherd (John 10:11) and chief Shepherd (1 Pet. 5:4); God Himself came to shepherd His scattered flock (Ezek. 34:23).
