How Traditions Read This Prophecy

Apostolic (Oneness) PentecostalThe Spirit resting on the Branch is not a third person given to a second person but the Spirit of YHWH (God's own presence and power) fully expressed in Jesus. "The Spirit of wisdom and understanding" describes the full divine nature dwelling in the Messiah — the one God in human manifestation.
JewishFuture Davidic king in the Messianic age when peace reigns among animals (v.6). Not yet fulfilled.
CatholicFulfilled in Jesus, the Branch from Jesse's line (Matt 1:6), anointed with the Spirit at baptism.
ProtestantThe sevenfold Spirit resting on Jesus is explicitly shown at his baptism.
DispensationalThe peaceable kingdom of v.6-9 is the Millennial reign — only partially fulfilled at First Coming.
