What stays on your device
Your notes, saved prophecies, reading progress, language and translation choices, theme, and the name you enter in Prophecy Detective are stored in your own browser and go nowhere else. Clearing your browser data deletes them. They are not backed up, and they do not follow you to another device or another browser.
What leaves your device
Site statistics. This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. That records pages and rough location — not who you are. Google’s own policy governs what they do with it.
Scripture text. When a passage is shown, the words may be fetched from bible-api.com. Only the verse reference is sent — never anything you have written.
The AI Research Assistant. This is the one place your own words leave the site. What you type is sent to Anthropic’s Claude to produce the answer, by way of our own server so that our key stays private. We do not store or log what you send; Anthropic handles it under their policy. If you would not want a sentence processed by an outside service, do not type it there.
The catalogue. Prophecy entries are read from a Google Firebase database. Reading is all that is permitted — nothing you do on this site writes to it.
