How Traditions Read This Prophecy
Apostolic (Oneness) Pentecostal'All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.' This universal worship of the one God is fulfilled as every knee bows at the name of Jesus (Phil. 2:10-11) and all nations stand before the throne (Rev. 7:9; 15:4). The Lord whom all nations will worship is the Lord Jesus, God revealed in flesh.
JewishThe hope that all nations will one day acknowledge and worship the LORD, the sole Maker; the universal scope of God's kingship.
CatholicThe eschatological worship of all nations before God, fulfilled in Christ and consummated in Revelation.
ProtestantAll nations worshiping God, realized through the gospel and at the end (Phil. 2; Rev. 15:4).
AcademicA universalizing note in an individual lament; the expectation of the nations' worship is a recurring Psalter theme.
