How Traditions Read This Prophecy
Apostolic (Oneness) Pentecostal'All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, when they hear the words of thy mouth.' The day comes when earth's rulers bow to the LORD's word — fulfilled as every tongue confesses Jesus Christ is Lord (Phil. 2:10-11) and the kings of the earth bring their glory into the city of God (Rev. 21:24). The word that all kings will praise is the word of God revealed in Christ.
JewishA confident hope that the kings of the earth will acknowledge and praise the LORD when they hear His words; the universal recognition of God's glory.
CatholicThe homage of all rulers to God, fulfilled in the universal lordship of Christ before whom all bow (Phil. 2).
