How Traditions Read This Prophecy
Apostolic (Oneness) Pentecostal'Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.' The Spirit of God is His own creating, renewing presence — the same Spirit that moved on the waters (Gen. 1:2), poured out in the new birth (Titus 3:5) and the new creation (2 Cor. 5:17; Rev. 21:5). God's Spirit is not another God but the breath and life of the one God, renewing all things in Christ.
JewishA creation hymn — all life depends moment by moment on God's spirit/breath (ruach); when He withdraws it creatures die, when He sends it life and renewal come.
