Apostolic (Oneness) Pentecostal'He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.' The empty tomb confirms His own word; the Lord Jesus, God in flesh, who foretold His rising, kept it to the letter. The angel's announcement is the turning point of all prophecy — the One who declared the end from the beginning rose exactly as He said.
JewishThe resurrection proclamation is not received in Jewish tradition; the empty-tomb claim was disputed from the first (Matt. 28:11-15).
CatholicThe angelic Easter proclamation; the empty tomb a sign of the resurrection, fulfilling Christ's predictions (cf. the Catechism).
