At the empty tomb the angels do not announce something new — they cite something old: 'Remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, saying, The Son of man must be delivered… and be crucified, and the third day rise again. And they remembered his words.' The resurrection arrives as a fulfilled quotation.

How Traditions Read This Prophecy
Apostolic (Oneness) PentecostalHeaven's messengers preach from His prior words — the pattern for every pulpit since: the event is explained by the prophecy, and faith is remembering what He already said.
Jewish(Internal to the Gospel narrative; the women-as-first-witnesses detail runs against the period's evidentiary conventions.)
CatholicThe angelic anamnesis ('remember') founds the Church's liturgical memory: the mystery of faith is Christ's own words verified.
ProtestantLuke's resurrection account is structured as prediction-verification — and its first witnesses are women, a detail no first-century inventor would choose (criterion of embarrassment).
AcademicThe 'remember… and they remembered' inclusio makes fulfilled prediction the literary engine of Luke 24; the women's testimony issue is discussed in all historical-Jesus treatments of the empty tomb.
