Apostolic (Oneness) PentecostalA promised second exodus — a deliverance so great it eclipses the bringing of Israel out of Egypt. The regathering from 'the land of the north' anticipates the day the Lord Jesus gathers and saves His people; the same God who led Israel from Egypt brings them home, and He is revealed in Christ.
JewishA cherished promise of the future ingathering of the exiles (kibbutz galuyot) surpassing the exodus; central to Jewish hope and read by many as bearing on the modern return to the land.
CatholicThe regathering fulfilled partly in history and ultimately in the gathering of God's people, often read with the Church's universal ingathering.
ProtestantA literal regathering of Israel; dispensationalists tie it to a national end-time return, while others see a typological fulfillment in the gospel's gathering of the redeemed.
AcademicA salvation oracle promising restoration after exile, deliberately echoing and surpassing the exodus tradition; 'the north' marks the route of Babylonian deportation and return.
