Isaiah 57:1-21
“The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.”
King James Version
God's mercy in taking the righteous before judgment falls, a pattern seen in Elijah, Josiah, and ultimately Christ's death before Jerusalem's doom.
