How Traditions Read This Prophecy
Apostolic (Oneness) PentecostalOften called 'Isaiah's Apocalypse' — the LORD lays the earth waste for its defiled covenant-breaking, until 'the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion... gloriously.' The cosmic judgment and the reign that follows are the work of the one God, consummated when the Lord Jesus returns to judge and to reign (Rev. 6; 11:15). The Judge of all the earth and the King in Zion are the one Lord.
JewishA sweeping vision of universal judgment for breaking the 'everlasting covenant,' followed by the LORD's glorious reign in Zion; an early apocalyptic-style oracle.
