Ezekiel 21:27
“I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it.”

As Babylon topples Zedekiah, God overturns the crown of David's line — 'overturn, overturn, overturn' — declaring it will remain no one's 'until he come whose right it is.' The phrase deliberately echoes Genesis 49:10 (Shiloh).

How Traditions Read This Prophecy
Apostolic (Oneness) PentecostalNo king of David's line has worn the crown since Zedekiah — until the angel announced the child who receives 'the throne of his father David' (Lk. 1:32). The right belongs to Jesus, and the kingdoms of this world will become His at His return.
JewishTraditional Jewish commentary (e.g., Targum Jonathan) refers 'he whose right it is' to the Messiah, for whom the monarchy is reserved.
CatholicThe suspended crown awaits Christ the King; His reign begins at the Incarnation and is consummated at the Parousia.
ProtestantA striking historical argument: the Davidic throne has stood vacant for 2,600 years, exactly as spoken, awaiting its rightful heir.
OrthodoxThe thrice-repeated 'overturn' marks total judgment on the earthly monarchy so that the everlasting Kingdom may be revealed in Christ.
