Apostolic (Oneness) PentecostalDespite Israel's profound unfaithfulness (the chapter's hard parable), God says, 'I will remember my covenant with thee... and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant... and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.' Grace triumphs over judgment; the everlasting covenant is the new covenant in the Lord Jesus (Heb. 8; Ezek. 37:26). God forgives and remembers His own promise — the wonder of the gospel foretold.
JewishAfter the searing indictment of unfaithful Jerusalem, God astonishingly pledges to remember His covenant and establish an everlasting one — unmerited mercy and restoration.
