How Traditions Read This Prophecy
Apostolic (Oneness) PentecostalThe Davidic covenant — 'thy throne shall be established for ever' — is kept in the Lord Jesus, the Son of David raised up to sit on David's throne (Acts 2:30; Luke 1:32-33), the Root and Offspring of David (Rev. 22:16). The everlasting throne belongs to God, and He fills it in the person of the glorified Christ; David's greater Son is Himself the LORD.
JewishGod's unconditional covenant guaranteeing the perpetuity of David's house and throne — the root of messianic expectation for an eternal Davidic kingdom.
