How Traditions Read This Prophecy
Apostolic (Oneness) Pentecostal'He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.' Solomon built the first temple, but the true and final fulfillment is the Lord Jesus, who builds God's house (Heb. 3:6 — the Church, His body) and reigns on the everlasting throne (Heb. 1:8; Luke 1:32-33). The house is for God's Name — the Name revealed in Jesus.
JewishGod's promise that David's son (Solomon) will build the temple and that the Davidic throne will endure — the temple and dynastic core of the covenant.
