How Traditions Read This Prophecy
Apostolic (Oneness) PentecostalSolomon ('Peaceable') is given as a man of rest who builds the house for God's name and whose throne is established for ever — a type of the true Prince of Peace, the Lord Jesus, who gives rest (Matt. 11:28), builds God's house, and reigns for ever. The promise overshoots Solomon and lands on Christ, in whom the everlasting kingdom stands.
JewishGod's word to David that his son Solomon, a man of peace, will build the temple and have an established throne; the temple-and-dynasty promise.
